"By God's Whimsical Grace..."

***************************************************

Dearly Beloved You-ness,

Once again, hope this finds you happy, hoppy, hoopy and loopy.
Back from Regent University...Which went most highly blisseously, indeed, by God's whimiscal grace. Ahh, the eyes at the Truth Spritz at Regent were lighting up like fireflies in there, boy. This is what we like. Had a most splendid breakfast with the Chaplain of the campus (Chaplain MacAlistar, who sponsored the event) a few hours before my thang. And in the course of conversation, from his lips wafts this:
"Look, everyone here is very busy, and under a lot of stress. I do *not* want this to be just another 'church service.' I want this to be an Oasis! And, I definitely 'get' the idea of 'Jester as Prophet'..."
Hoo Boy! Jester as Prophet! I ain't claiming prophethood, mind you, but I thought, Ding!!! Hey, the ceiling is *off* on this one, boy!! Oooh, I could hear the angels doing schtick...I mean, singing.

Out-of-the-box? Aw, Box, Schmox! I don't care about being out-of-the-box. Just want to be God's Burt, willin' to be in or out of any box He and I, together, choose to be in or out of. And, just between you and me, a lot of these boxes around here on this Earth are man-made, not God-made. -- Don't get me wrong, though. I appreciate a good box. Yes, I do. I appreciate boundaries. I appreciate scaffolding. But scaffolding is not the purpose of scaffolding. There is something being created by means of it. And that something is invisible. For us to make visible. The seen and the unseen, playing leapfrog...That's all there is, anywhere, anytime.

After the event at Regent, the Chaplain was musing on ways & means & angles & possibilities of bringing your humble servant back to the Virginia Beach area. Seek and ye shall find, dear Chaplain, seek and ye shall find.

Nowthen, on Friday, October 11th, I go up to Three Springs Farm Retreat Center in Pennsylvania (5 hours from DC). It will be a 4-day church retreat over Columbus Day Weekend. My theme will be, "In His Presence if Fullness of Joy." It will be for Community Bible Fellowship, located near Toms River, NJ. I spoke there on a Sunday morning and Sunday evening about 6 months ago; and they subsequently invited me to be the designated Truth Spritzer at their retreat. Hmm, you know, I thought the retreat was going to be in mid-January. Because, after I was at the church, the Pastor Rod Conover, said, "It's going to be a cold day when we invite *you* back here again!"

No, he didn't. Just wanted to see if you were paying attention.
Anyway, Three Springs Farm is in Nauvoo, Pa.
Which is near the town of Morris.
Which is near Wellsboro.

Now, after having told you all that, you still don't know where it is. Do you? No, you don't. You can't fool me.

Well, alone you are not. I don't know quite where it is, either. But, I will by tomorrow morning, when your humble servant and the li'l red convertible become mystically one yet again, and head out for another fresh joy-smuggling operation. If I were the severe, intensive obsessive-compulsive plan-your-work-&-work-your-plan type, I'd be scoping out MapQuest, or some such cyber-directions-finder right now. But, no, uh-uh. Here I am writing to you, dearheart. Just goes to show where my priorities are at, okay? I put you at the top of the To-Do List. Wow, doesn't that make your inner child's self-esteem feel special?! Feeeelinnngs! Wo wo wo wo wo, Feeeeelinnnngs! And you know why I do this. Do you? You wanna know, huh?...Because I love you silly gooses. That's why, okay? Is that so wrong? Sue me.
May God in His You Form Have a Most Lovely Weekend.

Jubilusciously,
Burt Rosenberg

-Dang, Burt, the Lord sure enlightens the eyes of your heart (and mind) and enables you to express it so wonderfulofantasticaliciously (how's THAT one for you...). Really, though, the Son of God manifested in the Holy Spirit within you (and me, and all other believers) comes shining through your writings...thanks for putting him as your Main Priority, which then enables you to put us as your priority.
(Map Quest is pretty boring and sometimes unclear anyway...unlike us top o' the line humans... ( : ha, ha).
In His Glorious Love,

Thank you, Dearheart Terri.
How encouraging you are!
Have a super refreshing weekend, would you please?
Blisses,
Burt
P.S.
Oh, by the bye, the FOCUS singles at Mclean Bible Church in Va. hath invited me to do a thang on Friday, October Oct. 11th (next Friday) at 7:30 pm. It is a little get-together for their "newcomers." The FOCUS ministry is pretty large, but this is geared for their new people. Thus, it will be a small group, with miniscule budget, so ahhhh here we have yet another case of your blessed support ducats at work! -- Who knows, maybe you'd like to come. I don't know how open they are to people coming who are not "FOCUS newcomers." But, the woman who contacted me, Micki O'Malley, is real nice, and probably would think it was just fi-i-i-ine. And also dandy. Micki's phone number is 703-631-6965. Can't hoit to ask. (If you're interested, that is.) Just a thought. In a message dated 10/11/02 9:48:16 AM, bruceandsuzi@juno.com writes:
<< Welll....Burt, "HOWDY!" Back from a 10 day Fall Tour, Part 1 in Wyoming!!
(Part 2 is 11/9-17 in MD/DC!) and thrilled to read what occurred in Va.
Beach. I like Va. Beach a lot, haven't been there in a while- a few yrs.
I loved reading your entire update, uhmmmmmmm, I mean, epistle! Cool.
(I do want to ask you to think 'bout not saying nor writting the slang
word, "schtik", as it is not polite nor becoming for a fine man like you)
It IS So exciting to know the LORD uses you & your extraordinary gifts
yr. after yr. My prayer is He'll continue to cause folks to invite you
to more and more congregations, retreats, etc. in ever wider areas, so
more and more folks may be blessed, encouraged, etc., and have their
awareness, vision & understanding of our awesome God & His salvation gift
expanded beyond anything they've known before....Yes!, all their boxes
opened and torn and stretched and expanded. "PTL!" Today taking Jared
to school I was saying how precious and awesome He is, to even bother any
further with us, let alone at all. WOW!
May Yeshua bless, guard, care for, guide and use you ever more mightily
to His praise, honor and glory. In Jesus Name, Amen. Hope 2 C U on 11/16
at SODC! With love, Bruce. >>

Howdy, Pahdner!
Great to hear from you. Welcome home from Wyoming. I trust the words of your lips imparted Life abundantly during your meetings. Ahh yess, Wyoming...brings back fond memories of my several missionary journeys to there. Yes, perhaps they are a tad population-challenged, but the folks were mighty friendly. Not leastly, Wyoming is where I learned never to rest your hat flat on the brim. But to ALWAYS lay it down upside-down. -- EVERY TIME I laid my hat down, like on a chair or table with the brim downward, a good cowboy sidled over and said, "We don't put our hats down on the brim." No kidding. And I have taken that to heart ever since. Of course, in the East, folks are prone to say, "Hey, your hat is upside down!!" But, we know better now, don't we?
Yes, I join you in your prayer that "...He'll continue to cause folks to invite you to more and more congregations, retreats, etc. in ever wider areas, so
more and more folks may be blessed, encouraged, etc., and have their
awareness, vision & understanding of our awesome God & His salvation gift
expanded beyond anything they've known before...." Yes, yes, yes!! BINGO!!! (For both of us!)
Looking forward to seeing you in November at SODC, Lord willin'. Meanwhile, fresh surprise blessings to your heart!

<< Burt,
I just went to your web site for the (I'm ashamed to say) first time. Liked it. Didn't read everything, but I particularly liked the poem about being in Borders. Your thoughts on comedy were actually better than my memorable treatise at SOD years ago. Loved the photos. Since there were no letters, I'm willing to write one lauding you to the skies (haven't used the word "lauding" in a long time; isn't that interesting?) I realize that you probably had trouble finding one that was complimentary, haw-haw.
I'll pray that it goes well at that retreat.
